Functions
Gravity pendulum with automatic levelling · Slope mode: the pendulum locks so a fall can be marked out · Detector mode for working outdoors · Lines about 7 mm from the wall and 6 mm from the floor · Stated runtime of 6 to 8 hours

Use

Three complete 360° planes: one horizontal and two crossed vertical. The reference goes right round the room in one go, without repositioning the instrument — and that is what saves time on repeated setting out, tiling or stud tracks.

The beam is green, with a stated wavelength between 505 and 520 nm. The instrument levels itself within ±3°, and the slope mode locks the pendulum so you can mark out a deliberate fall.

Frequent questions about this model

What does “three 360° planes” mean?

That the instrument throws three complete circles of light: one horizontal and two crossed vertical. Unlike a cross, the reference goes right round the room in one go. You reposition the instrument once instead of at every wall, and that saves time on repeated setting out.

What accuracy should I expect?

The maker states ±1.5 mm at 5 metres. That figure scales with distance: about ±3 mm at ten metres and ±6 mm at twenty. It assumes a steady mounting and room temperature. It is the same accuracy as our 16-line model: the four planes change nothing about how true it is.

Can it be used outdoors?

To the naked eye no: in daylight the line fades after a few metres. With the detector, yes. The maker states 20 metres of visible range and up to 50 metres in pulse mode with the detector. That detector is an option in the box, ticked when you order.

What is the slope mode for?

To lock the pendulum that levels the instrument. Once locked, the laser stops correcting itself and follows whatever tilt you give it: useful for a ramp, a drain, a staircase. Outside that mode the instrument levels itself within ±3° and flashes beyond.

Do I need a tripod?

Not always. The magnetic mount supplied is enough on a steel frame, and the instrument sits on any steady surface. The tripod earns its place as soon as the height of the horizontal plane has to be set exactly, for a stud track or a tile band. It is offered as an option in the box.

What is in the basic box?

The instrument, its magnetic mount, the battery, the remote, the charger and a pouch. The 1.50-metre tripod and the 50-metre detector are added by ticking a box, without changing the number of parcels: a single item ships, whichever build you choose.
