For tiling, the stated accuracy counts for less than the continuity of the reference: what you want is a line crossing the room without a step, and a mark on the floor to start the first courses.

A cross-line laser does the job in a plain room. A model with complete planes saves repositioning when the tiling carries on into the hall or the next room.
